Great West Coast Blues is on tap this week as The Green Parrot Bar
brings back popular harmonica bluesman Mark Hummel on Tuesday night,
February 8th at 9 o’clock.
With the Blues Survivors, Hummel toured virtually non-stop throughout
the United States, Canada and Europe often playing alongside such
blues greats as Charlie Musselwhite, Brownie McGhee, Lowell Fulson and
Eddie Taylor. He has performed at numerous festivals across the
country, including the San Francisco Blues Festival and the Chicago
Blues Festival, and has performed and judged at the Hohner Harmonica
World Championship, held in Germany.
According to Living Blues magazine, “Hummel and his swinging brand of
blues are a
match made in heaven.” Blues Revue says, “Mark Hummel is a harmonica
virtuoso. Quite simply, he is one of a handful of the best players
ever on the instrument, and he gets better with each new release.”
Get some mid-week culture this Tuesday night at The Green Parrot Bar,
your Southernmost Center for Culture, at the corner of Whitehead and
Southard Streets.
