Wayside Tavern

Here’s a short essay from the latest issue of Modern Drunkard magazine. I dont want to overestimate the significance of joints like ours but there is a point to be made about being able to sidle up to the bar and by virtue of ponying up the price of a drink be able to, within certain limits of common sense amd etiquette, mine valuable information about the local landscape, weigh in on issues of the day both large and small or simply as Peter Rowan put it in a song called Wayside Tavern, simply to “join the din and mingle with the crowd”.Sorry about the way the link appeared I just installed a new browser and well…maybe I should walk down to the corner bar and see who the computer geek is in the joint.
