The Grateful Dead’s Vince Wellnick

“The Grateful Dead’s Vince Wellnick with Gent Treadly  at  The Green Parrot”
Former Grateful Dead keyboardist Vince Wellnick returns to The Green
Parrot with The Gent Treadly  Band
Welnick is best known as the keyboardist for The Grateful Dead from
1990 until Jerry Garcia’s death in 1995. After Dead keyboardist Brent
Mydland died of a drug overdose in 1990 Welnick auditioned for the
spot and got it, taking over what may have seemed  the Grateful Dead’s
most fatal position. (founding member Ron “Pigpen” McKernan and Keith
Godchaux both preceded Mydland in both the gig and death),
Since Garcia’s death Welnick has been involved in solo efforts
including the band Missing man Formation and a brief stint with Bob
Weir’s ratdog.  Don’t miss these three chances to see  Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame member Vince Welnick this Thursday and Friday at The
Green Parrot Bar, your Southernmost Center for Culture at the corner
of Whitehead and Southard Streets.
