Stokeswood Brings infectious Energy, Fierce Electronic Edge, Talking Heads Covers, to Parrot
Atlanta-based electro-acoustic band, Stokeswood, brings their infectious energy, unpredictable live performances, and a fierce electronic edge to The Green Parrot with shows at 5:30 and 10 PM on Friday and Saturday, November 14th and 15th, including a special Friday 10 PM performance  of their 90-minute cover of  the Talking Head’s legendary live-concert film “Stop Making Sense” .
Formed by lead vocalist and acoustic guitar player, Adam Patterson, and lead electric guitarist, Mark Godwin. Stokeswood is a marvel to watch, as they switch between instruments, giving up their spot on keys, synths and guitar like a game of musical chairs, all the while keeping up an irresistible, danceable backbone to the imaginative melodies and powerhouse, gut-wrenching vocals.
With songs that are infused with confidence, the band undeniably owns the room with their unique unpredictable sound, expressive beats and high-energy presence.
They coined the phrase “Low-Endie” rock to describe their layered mixture of pumping synths, powerful vocals, and irresistible dance vibe.tible dance vibe.

 

Stokeswood Presents “Stop Making Sense in The Keys”

As a way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of the Talking Heads seminal rock movie Stop Making Sense, Atlanta-based electro-acoustic band Stokeswood  will bring  their 90 minute cover of director Jonathan Demme’s renowned live-concert film to The Green Parrot stage.
Although Stokeswood has been perfuming this set for a few years, Friday’s show is timed to coincide with the 30 anniversary digital edition and it’s re-release at various theaters throughout the country.
