It was a blast and our special thanks to all the musicians who carved out the time to make this thing work and special thanks to the Spam allstars who not only donated their afternoon set to our benefit but actually refused some of their fee for their other shows so the could throw some of their own money in the pot for the Bahama Village Music Program. Thanks to Spam conga player Lazaro Alfonso for giving us all an opportunity to see one of the greatest percussionists on the planet…
Thanks to Billy and Louie and The Meteor Smokehouse for the Chicken and waffles, Thanks to Robert Albury and Cliff Sawyer for Belting It Out, (Cliff’s version of Jackie Wilson’s “Your Love is lifting me Higher” just had them swinging from the rafters)… Thanks to Caribe and Rolando..Thanks to Fritz and Francois for making it sound great…. Thanks to Spam Allstars’ Chad Berenstein for sitting in with out own great trumpeter Kenny Fradley for a few tunes during the Fats Navarro Tribute…Thanks to the Navarro family for turning out in force and most of all thanks to all of our patrons who once again showed their appreciation for, and knowledge of, good music and of course, their generosity.
