Senegal’s Morikeba Kouyate/Spam Allstars Jose Elias Bring West African Roots to Parrot Stage
As a special addition to the Green Parrot’s Cultural Calendar, on Wednesday, April 1st, beginning at 9 PM, Ancient roots sounds will be supplied by Senegal’s Morikeba Kouyate whose 30-year career celebrates a 700-year musical lineage in West Africa. He performs in the Mandingo language and translates to English. He plays tribal instruments, tells stories, and acts out “warrior folklore.” He will be accompanied onstage by Spam Allstars guitarist Jose Elias
