Posted On:Jack Hackett continued his “One For The Road”, poem-a-day residency at The Green Parrot today to celebrate National Poetry Month.
Inspired by the impish-looking Jack, pictured here, I big-dealed a few others, tourist and locals alike, into stepping up to the mike and reading something.
I thought it went well.
I even read one myself.
I asked a very nice tourist gal to pick a baseball poem from an anthology of baseball poetry I had because they were bummed to miss opening day at home in Cincinnati, she did, and she did great!
Then Whitey read one extemporaneously, then Lew from next door, then Dixie, and Nicole.
It was very cool and so spontaneous!
I think we will try it again tomorrow at 5:30!
