Curating the Green Parrot Little Free Library on rainy Sunday morning
with more rain on the way.
I spy a new volume, no dust jacket but the author’s name on the spine catches my eye, Tony Hillerman.
Perfect day to spend with The Tribal Police in the land of the Navajo.

As a footnote, on the Other Books
by the Author page, the previous owner had checked off nearly all of Hillerman’s previous books as well as some marginalia on how often a certain phrase appear in this particular novel.
That’s another reason I love used books, and our little library. While a brand new book communicates with it’s first-reader alone, a used book has the possibility of granting us, the current owner, a sort of legacy from past owners as well, be it a note on the flyleaf, a coffee stain, or a greyhound bus ticket used as a bookmark.#greenparrotbar #tonyhillerman #joeleaphorn #marginalia #littlefreelibrary
