Bob Marley’s Birthday Tribute at The Green Parrot to Benefit Bahama Village Music Program

Posted On:

To give a little background to The Bob Marley Birthday Tribute held Wednesday, February 6th at the Green Parrot, the show was the inspiration of long-time Key West Reggae Musician Duane Scott. Duane has been a fixture on the Key West music scene for decades and has been responsible for some of the more memorable reggae shows held in Key west during those years.
As a tribute to Bob Marley and the world consciousness he inspired, all the musicians on stage agreed to turn their pay over to the bahama village music program. Duane Scott, abdul mateen, fenton, ray, george victory, nauni, keith ricks, asked that The Green Parrot donate their wages for the afternoon show. Equally inspired we offered to match that amount  and presented a check to Duane to give to th neighborhood program
The Band could easily be tagged the Key West Reggae Allstars
The Vibe was awesome for this show. With the songs of Bob Marley to showcase and the  passion of the players on the stage the audience was visibly moved
