Billy Bacon & the Forbidden Pigs Play Mother’s Day at The Green Parrot

Billy Bacon and the Forbidden Pigs, personifying what The Green Parrot
Bar is all about, , returned for a special  Mother’s
Day show Some performers are animated. Some are manic. But only a precious few
play like they are truly possessed. Some call the music of Billy
Bacon & the Forbidden Pigs roots rock, or rockabilly with a hint of
the blues. However, there is so much influence and variety in his
music, labels can’t do the group justice. Whether he’s doing daredevil
jumps off the bass fiddle, crooning a heartfelt ballad or leading his
troupe of seasoned musicians into an authentic Mexican norteña
classic, Bacon is wholly devoted to his craft
This fall Billy and his band celebrate 20 years of the relentless,
non-stop touring that has made them the poster children for neglected
road warriors and has spread their Tex-Mex-Blues-a-Billy gospel to
people everywhere.

The Pigs have proven over and over just how much swine-jive can be
packed into two days of swine-tingling musical antics, perfect for The
Green Parrot stage. So get ready for some original rockabilly as this
trio of high-energy swiners bring their straight-forward roadhouse
style to the Parrot and have you slopping around on the dance floor.
The Green Parrot is your Southernmost Center for Porcine Culture of every
kind, and is located at the corner of Whitehead and Southard Streets.
